MAIN SECTION

The fifth edition of Cape Town Art Fair (CTAF) offered a diverse display of contemporary art from leading international galleries.

TOMORROWS/TODAY

A curated cross-section of the most exciting emerging artists from Africa, TOMORROWS/TODAY is a bold prediction of the future of African artistic talent. The winner of the 2017 TOMORROWS/TODAY Prize, selected by curator at the Tate Museum Zoe Whitley, international independent curator Moses Serubiri, and CTAF Fair Curator Tumelo Mosaka, is Jackie Karuti represented by Circle Art Gallery (Nairobi, Kenya).

PAST/MODERN

Included in the fair is a section dedicated to displaying modern Southern African artists.

UNFRAMED

A new section, UNFRAMED is dedicated to ambitious, large-scale works. The works were selected on the basis of being strongly interactive; encouraging fairgoers to enter into a more stimulating dialogue with contemporary art.

EDITIONS

The Editions section of the fair highlights prints and multiples.

CULTURAL PLATFORMS

In the CULTURAL PLATFORMS section of the fair, non-profit art institutions and initiatives display their collections. The non-commercial area provides organisations with a showcase opportunity to pique the interest of fairgoers, collectors and curators.

MAGAZINES AND PUBLICATIONS

Leading South African publishers and booksellers with an interest in art.

DIGITAL PLATFORMS

A digital reading lounge highlighting arts reportage from around the world.
